Fast Break: Fruity Heaven

We all know the food pyramid- it was geometry 101 for us when we were but wee little ones. Bread, rice, and grains make the foundation of an ideal diet, and one that has inspired fad diets: Atkins diet, low carb diets, Paleo diet. But fruit, the next building block of a healthy food pyramid, is a block that is unfortunately taken for granted or forgotten.
It’s no secret that eating fresh fruit is incredibly beneficial for our health: the hard part is actually acting on it. Fruit is chock full of good stuff for your body.

  • Potassium helps with muscle strength, the nervous system, and can help with stress management
  • Folic acids assists in the breakdown, creation, and use of proteins
  • No fruit has cholesterol- wins all around
  • Vitamin C is so important there’s no need for an explanation
  • Fiber…we all know the real reason why we need fiber
