Columbus Diaper Coalition Fundraiser

Did you know it could cost up to $100 a month to diaper just one baby? And that SNAP and WIC (food stamp programs) don’t cover that cost? That means that families in need are consistently struggling to diaper and care for their children. In Franklin county about 30% of low income families can’t afford to change their children’s diapers frequently enough, which leads to stress on both the child and the mothers. That’s where the Columbus Diaper Coalition comes in.
The Columbus Diaper Coalition works to end diaper need in Franklin County by distributing diapers through 18 different Columbus area food pantries and social service organizations (like Fruit of the Vine and Broad Street Pantry). Since they began in 2013 they have distributed more than half a million, yes, that’s right, 500,000 diapers. That’s a lot of diapers!

How can you help?

For the first month we’re open at our newest Polaris location, we’ll be collecting diapers and monetary donations for the Coalition. When you come in for breakfast next, bring in diapers or a few extra bucks. The most needed sizes are 5 and 6! The pantries go through those really fast!
